THE SPIKE

This imposing sculpture, made of corten steel and marble is in Newmarket Road Retail Park, Cambridge. Called a monstrosity by some critics, I think it is rather good. I like the towering majesty, the markings in the marble and the fact that it incorporates seating for us weary shoppers. Today I was there with my daughter to pick up a new rug then I saw the perfect nest of coffee tables and a unit for my TV, the old one being much too large. Back home to welcome my granddaughter, husband and new great grandson. It's good to go shopping and find exactly what you need. Unable to find out who the sculptor was.
