Splash of gold

Sometimes the simplest flowers have the strongest impact. I found these little blooms in a corner of the lawn that missed out on recent mowings. They are probably weeds, but I love their star shape and powerful golden colour.

Spent most of today in the garden, ripping out brambles and hacking back rampant shrubbery. I also did some stacking of wood and other dry debris that may be suitable material for building a bug hotel, inspired by yesterday's blip. More of the same tomorrow. Good way to spend a Bank Holiday weekend.
