One day at a time...

Sir Oscar

We were going to have 3 nights camping, but after a look at the weather, the third day was due for heavy rain all day, as such we packed up camp. We then went to the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest:
"The Major Oak is a large English oak tree near the village of Edwinstowe in the heart of Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, England. According to local folklore, it was Robin Hood's shelter where he and his merry men slept. It weighs an estimated 23 tons, has a girth of 33 feet (10 metres), and is about 800–1000 years old. In a 2002 survey, it was voted “Britain’s favourite tree”
As it was a bank holiday weekend there was an event on with medieval Knights. They were doing some exhibition fights in full armour and you were able to try on and pick put the armour & weapons.

I got some nice shots of the men fighting in full armour, however I liked this shot of Oscar with a helmet on.

The kids & I tried archery with a long bow. Sophie did really well with 19 pts, Oscar got 23 pts and I limped along with 17 pts. Seriously quite difficult with a long bow!

Came home and had a well deserved shower :)

The tent did well, however we shall be upgrading for next year!

I caught up with the last coupe days of BLIPS, here and here.

Apologies for the lack of communication, but I aim to catch up with viewing and comments in the next couple of days.
