Work gets underway

Day One in the flat.

- Thom and Dad started painting the walls
- Mum cleaned all the carpets (and the suite) with one of those machine things...great invention!
- I started on the kitchen, which was in an absolute state. I started optimistic, hoping to be starting on a bathroom by the end of the day...I had barely even finished half of it by the end of the day.

We we knackered by the end of the day, I'll tell you that. Mum and I ended up dropping back in at the shops to get some more cleaning products. I guess we'd both underestimated how bad it was. We also decided to give the oven a treatment with Oven Pride on the next day...it was so bad that normal cleaning products didn't even dent it.
