Robin Barclay - one a day

Record-breaking rainfall in Shetland

Today it rained heavily all day from around 10:30 am (before that it rained normally) so that eventually 40-year records were broken, ending the warm, dry spell. Taken around 6pm, this shows the Hoswick burn, from the Hoswick road bridge, raging down the flower-meadows that normally line it. Further down the wooden foot bridge (Fred's brig) was washed downstream (it was blown over by gales in January).
