Newt in the woodpile!

I was stacking firewood earlier today when I came across this little fella on a wet log. Thought at first it was a lizard but the four front toes - I took several pictures - proclaim it a newt, though I'm not sure which species - palmate, maybe? I must check to see what we have here.

I haven't really got to grips with the macro settings on my new camera, but it's a start!
