Graceful

One of the really nice things about being part of the Blipfoto family is meeting other Blippers. So it was today when I met two Motueka Blippers in person. They are Lizellen and Riwaka7. We met for lunch at a delightful Motueka café called “Up the Garden Path”. It was such fun getting to know each other and talking non-stop of Blipping matters and photography in general. After lunch they very kindly took me on a photographic foray around part of the Motueka Estuary. We walked the paths, talked and made photographs galore. There is a lovely area called the Estuary Gardens, a community project with many native shrubs, plants and trees. We were intrigued with several plants of what looked like one of the native grasses, Toitoi. I have used an image of the flowering heads for today’s blip. I am wondering if anyone out there can please tell me the correct name of this very graceful plant.
Today is officially the last day of winter and we are certainly feeling the winter cold this evening. Tomorrow, being the first of September is the first day of spring….. A time for new beginnings.
