Welcome Eco Gecko!!

Bright and early this morning at 8:00 we held a grand opening of our Exploration Center!! A brand new library with 1,000 new books; a new biolab with those big black tables, just like college; computer lab with 48 new Dell computers!! ; and an Aquatics lab that looks like a pet store! Can't wait to see the hands-on sciences they will learn. The technology they will master! Environment sciences and technology at it's finest!

Our school district is facing a few million dollars of cuts this year. Amazing that we were able to pull this together in spite of the economy, with grants, donations, corporate sponsors, and lots and lots of dedication from the awesome principal, the dedicated PTA president, and allllll the parents! One aquarium company, which helped set up the Montery Aquarium and the Long Beach Aquarium, donated $15,000 of equiptment they had sitting in a warehouse. They even want to help set up a jelly fish tank! In an elementary school?? How awesome is that?

So fitting that our mascot was our first animal in residence!
