Catstyecam Red tarn & striding edge from Helvellyn

This just HAS to be viewed LARGE!

I decided to drive over to Glenridding today for a long walk, wasn't sure sure I was going to manage it, but set out to do Helvellyn. I managed it - all along the top of striding edge, up the scramble to the top, and down Swirrel edge before ascending Catsyecam and returning to Glenridding.

A fabulous walk - probably too long even for the active walking weeks. The photo was taken halfway up the steep scramble at the end of Striding Edge, and is a stitched panorama of three pics, taken on the D700 and a 28mm lens and no, I didn't take a tripod!
