Swan

We went to Roundhay Park with our daughter and granddaughter. We stopped off for a lunch at The Roundhay Fox - very nice it was too.

The we wandered off a walk around the lake. There were two family groups of swans - one with 5 cygnets and the other with 4 - not a bad haul really.

There seemed to be a little argy-bargy going on when the groups got a bit close and this one (a male I think) was thrusting down into the water quite aggressively towards the other group - you can see the 'hollow' created.

More swans here.

As well as the inevitable gulls we also saw a cormorant - resting on a post in the middle of the lake - I have some very grainy and shaky pictures of it. I know gulls have started moving further inland in search of food but I didn't know that other sea-birds were also moving in.
