Goodbye Oxford!

The last few days we spend at my Auntie Sophie’s and Uncle Dans in Oxfordshire, they live in a remote yet stunning part of England. It was perfect, although we loved Paris & being in London it was about time we had some peace and countryside.
We didn’t do a lot & that was ok, we had a great time there. Every morning we went down stairs with a bowl, plate, cutlery, glass set up for us with a variety of juice, cereal, croissants etc. Every night Dan cooked for us & it was always so delicious. nathan & I cooked for them one night, it went okay..... we made jacket potatoes with spinach & a side of chicken, delicious, the sauce however wasn’t the best. It was a combination of what ever the fuck we could find. It tasted ok, but the consistency was borderline cake mixture.

We had a solid 3 days of bed rest, although it made me feel like I was in a bubble it was good for the hip & back. To much time doing nothing gets me really down, but 3 days was perfect. We had Eve there to give us a good laugh which was great! She's a very cheeky monkey. However, we got a bit lazy with our clothes. Looked like a bomb had gone off! Opps. Although Soph did do some washing for us which was also amazing, not a nice feeling wearing the same undies 7 days in a row. Bit of an exaggeration but more than one day is to much!

Before we left we gave them each a present, we were so grateful for everything we didn’t know how to thank them, so tried to get something small & personal each. Soph & Dan got a carefully picked bottle of wine each, Nathan spent a fair amount of time at Tesco’s making sure it was just right.
Soph was talking about getting Eve a CD player because she had trouble sleeping at nights, she would sneak down the stairs every 20 minutes asking for a drink, so we got her one along with a Frozen CD. We got the CD player from Argos, Nathan was so confused as to how the shop worked it was funny, and the Frozen CD almost didn’t make it to Eve. We were playing it in the car on the way home singing to all the songs, we even learnt a two part song word for word by the time we got home! (That didn’t happen according to Nathan ;)) I was tempted to keep it for the drive to Devon, but decided I’d get a copy later instead! hehe
Isaac got a Star wars lego set which was a night mare trying to find, simply because he has so much! We couldn’t find any that he didn’t already have, but in the end we took a risk & luckily he didn’t already have it. Both the kids disappeared & were very quiet once they received them.

We we’re quite gutted to be leaving but also very excited to be heading to Croyde, a beautiful little village where I grew up. That’s if we didn’t get lost!
