All creatures great and small

Today I discovered I have rather too much wildlife in my garden. There are at least two rats living in (or behind) my compost bin. I turned the hosepipe on the compost in the hope that a soaking would encourage them to find a new home.

This impressive spider is another garden resident but I'm not trying to evict him/her.

By the time I'd finished taking photos of the spider, one of the neighbours' cats had spotted and started stalking the rats. I don't think it caught them though.
