A day out

We got up & straight away started playing Mario on the wii with Tess, we got a third control charged so spent the best part of the morning staring at the screen laughing at how hopeless Tess & I were at it & how angry Nathan got when we died!

We head down to Redwood after & I got to buy a nice pair of Vans that I wanted to buy the day before but Nathan didn’t let me.
“Are you going to buy your shoes today?” Nath asked
“No, you didn’t want me to”
“When has that ever stopped you?” True, so I brought them.

After that we went up to the old ice cream shop where Karmas mum Vicky works & had a look at her hand made Croyde sea glass jewelry. It was so beautiful, I was obsessed with all her new pieces she put photos up online. She said he had made me a rare special piece as a wedding gift she was going to give me that night so I didn’t buy anything. Luckily, because I couldn’t decide, they were all amazing.

After that we head off to Barnstaple to try get a sim card sorted for our phone, this was around the 10th time we’d been somewhere to get one and we never had any luck.
We finally brought a sim card, got to the car to put in the phone just as it died. We got home & tried the sim card after charging the phone only to find out it could not connect! We were not having any luck.

So we gave up & tried to head out to pick up our friend Dafydd who was now waiting at Tesco for a lift from Braunton to Croyde, but at the moment of departure from the room Nathan decided it was a brilliant time to book our ferry over to Ireland. After a small heated debate because I didn’t want to be to late, Nathan sat down & spent the next 30 minutes trying to book a ferry.
When we got to Dafydd, 45 minutes later, his phone was dead he had a can in his hand & was not looking to pleased.

We now had no communication to the world, all phones were either dead, had no connection or didn’t work in this country, so we had to wing it from here. We had a dinner booked with Karma, but didn’t know where to meet her. We head home & rummaged everywhere for a phone charger, just as I gave up Karma’s mum walked through the door & gave us a lift to the pub! Brilliant.
She had hand made a stunning ring & necklace as a wedding present, the colors were rare & the first to be made using two different colors. They were perfect.
After a pint & quick catch up with some old friends from school we head off to Blue Groove for some dinner, which was a good laugh! The food was brilliant & so was the service. We spent half the night impersonating things we’d seen on Youtube. Favorite quotes for the night were from a Harry Potter puppet theme song & a talking dog! It was one of those you-had-to-be-there moments to find it funny.
Karma decided it was a brilliant idea to try a cocktail called Porno-(something), which Vicky later renamed Porno-colado, & TVE (Tequila, vodka, energy) got changed to TCP. They were nasty. Vicky kept saying ‘I’m not even drunk’ the whole night, which was hilarious as every one else had gotten quite drunk to the point that it was almost impossible someone was sober!
Karma got some beers from the pub next door & 6 of them did shotgun, not something I will probably ever do, I’m getting to old!
We managed to get a lift home which was awesome. Karma found a scrap book I’d sent her for christmas a few years ago, it was full of photos of us as kids doing the weirdest things! We laughed so hard.
