Double trouble

A pack of Angelikas and Border Collies. Mother Anglelika and son Michael who we visited a few months ago have at long last managed to pay a return visit. Michael works at the Memmingen Animal Rescue center and at home has a vast variety of animals, including two BC's.

As last time it was a wonderful afternoon with two lovely people, Our Luna behaved very badly though being snappy and generally very anti-social. She often has a problem on first contact with other dogs (fear, I think) but normally after 5 minutes, she is playing with them - not today.

Coffee & cake and lots of lovely ones - Angie had made a very rich cake and Angelika had brought home made Apple Strudel and Pastrys knowing how much I love them. She had also brought lots of homemade jams!

We were pleased with a sunny, warm day, the first for ages. Late afternoon a storm appeared just north & west of us but despite the thunder & lightning didn't quite get to us. However Michael & Angelika were nervous as it came from their direction (north west of Memmingen) and when we checked on a weather radar site, indeed the storm was firmly over their house. So broke up a little early and set off home. Luckily all was well.

MrB had popped by in the afternoon top check if the bees ready for the final Varroa mite treatment with formic acid. Gave the nod but said it must not rain! Given the weather it was a chance but I risked it and luckily that went well too.

The bees saved the day for me - I was able to give Angelika a couple of jars of my honey in return for all the wonderful goodies she brought with her.
