The Third Wheel

In this sofa situation Sam (far right) could be described as third wheeling.

I wonder how many of you know what that means? Probably only those of you with teenage kids...

I first heard the expression about 3 months ago and was totally bewildered, all three of my boys thought it was hilarious that I had no clue what they were on about!

For those without teenagers being a third wheel means you are unwanted/unnecessary a "gooseberry" as I used to call it.
