Fruit and Veg

Wan Chai indoor food market is an overload for the senses. The sight of fruit and veg piled high, immaculately presented with so many vibrant colours is so wonderful. Then there the fish stalls...with too many live things: fish, frogs, crabs, lobsters. Each species squeezed into tiny tanks or bowls; they can hardly move. Like a typical hypocritical carnivore, I put my head down, and walk quickly past, trying not to think about it.
This lady was selling vegetables mainly. She has an amazing face. I would have loved to have had the courage to ask for a proper portrait, but it always feels like an imposition, especially to those that are a little older.
