Sirocco

The Sirocco Engineering Works made rope, were involved in the tea industry, and in later years supplied Harland & Wolff, the Belfast shipbuilder.
Founded in 1881, the site of the works was demolished recently to make way for the development of Sirocco Quays, a new residential area of apartments overlooking the Lagan.
This view is taken from under a railway arch and shows the last remaining chimney on the site and some relatively new apartments on the far side of the boundary wall.
