Quite nice in large.

I only managed to see a small fraction of the photojournalism exhibition last week, so we went back today. It's pretty depressing that nowadays photojournalism is basically about wars and atrocities.  A bright spot was provided by a project where children in Brazil's favelas were given cameras to record their daily lives -- much of which is devoted to playing football on the beach. The child's eye view made for some original shots. I also liked the late Anja Niedringhaus's photographs, capturing the humanity and vulnerability of people in terrible situations. She was shot dead by an Afghan policeman in April 2014.

On this blazing hot day we had lunch in the shade at La Maison Rouge, which I've blipped before. Recommended -- simple, freshly prepared food, attractively presented. More photos after lunch, a thirst-quenching granita by the canal, then home with a quick stop at an apero we'd been invited to at a wine domaine near Lézignan.
