Anteater

I was looking for a subject to try out a 70-200mm f2.8 VR Nikon zoom I have on loan, when what should show up on the lawn but a green woodpecker looking for a few ants (more than a few in my garden). I got reasonably close but they are, as I'm sure you know, very skittish birds, and he soon clocked me and flew off with that laughing call they do which basically says ha, you can't catch me - but I did, didn't I? !!
