Sheila

Sheila is an aquatic dog living in Lenno. She has her own boat, shown in the foreground of this picture, though she was not in the boat when I took this picture. Sheila spends much of the weekend at the lake, and so the boat gets plenty of use.

Sheila's companion rows the boat out into the lake, and Sheila sits in the front under a canopy sheltering from the sun. The canopy cannot quite be seen in the photo, though it is in the base of the boat.

Sheila is very attentive to her companion. When he gets tired of rowing, which occurs when he is well out into the the bay, Sheila jumps into the lake and comes to the rescue. She takes hold of a rope which trails from the boat and tows the boat back to the shore, and so rescues her companion from the deep blue water.

Unfortunately by the time Sheila has towed the boat to safety the companion has recovered from his rowing exertions At this point Sheila jumps back into the boat and the same scene is re-enacted. I do not know how many times Sheila has to come to the rescue of her companion over the course of a weekend.

It certainly is a dog's life looking after rowers in the lake.
