Backstreets

It has taken a few days to get around to it, this afternoon we headed to Mennagio to an electrical shop to get a couple of cables. Shops are closed on a Monday morning which gave us an excuse for a laze in the garden.

This is one of the back streets in the main shopping part of Mennagio, the centre of the road is stepped for pedestrians. The edges are smooth for vehicles.

One of the relatively few irritating things about life in Italy is the number of low powered but very noisy motor bikes around. At least the youths that ride them probably call them motor bikes, they are really scooters looking like motor bikes. My theory is the less power they have the more noise they make. Fitting them with silencers would be a great improvement, but that would spoil all the fun.

Naturally the youngsters on these bikes go down the centre of these stepped lanes so they can enjoy all the bumps as they descend the road.
