A Day Worth Recording

By Cheeseminer

It's Wood Jim (err, Rod) but not as we know it.

Monday and Rod & son, the roofers, are back on the job.

Normally, the slop'y roof timbers rest on a length of timber along the top of the wall called the "wall plate".

The one on the holiday cottage came out in handfuls.

The surveyor seems to have been spot on with his opinion of the property management here; sadly.  Still, the place is still wonderful, especially now we're finding more of the garden.  That said, it will be weeks, perhaps months, before we cut a way through to the boundaries.

Finding a plumber is proving difficult.  The 'incumbent' one simply failed to show up at the arranged time.  A second at least had the courtesy to phone and apologise that he couldn't make it; we await the third.
