Nothing is worth more

a winter's morning

Took this shot cycling over the Braid Hills Road early this morning en route to our regular Wednesday bike ride. It was chillingly cold and the Forth Valley lay in mist though the light above the Lammermuirs to the south and west was clear.

Our ride leader has an incredible knowledge of the highways and byways of the Lothians and off road detours are a feature of his routes. Today we made our way out by Loanhead, calling in briefly to visit a club member there . When we came out - there were at least fifteen of us plus bikes - a wee lad passing by with his mum said in a voice of wonder - those people cant all live there, that must be someone else's house - I dont think he could quite imagine a household made up of fifteen men and women and their bikes!

We dipped down into Roslin Glen and explored the remains of the gunpowder mill there before heading on to Carrington and Pathhead and then returning via Carbery Hill and a visit to the monument to Mary Queen of Scots. So lots of blipping opportunities and it was hard to choose which to post - I went for the familiar in an unfamiliar light rather than the unfamiliar in familiar light!
