A New Day Dawns

A new day dawns but not on a new Independent Nation.
Scotland has spoken and the silent majority have voted to stay in the Union with a clear lead of 10%.
The turnout at the polling stations was phenomenally high and there are a lot of disappointed people in Scotland this morning.
We can only hope that Westminster now honours it's commitments given last week to increase the powers given to Holyrood.

We in the Dower House were a divided couple on the issue of independence, but we are united today on our 16th wedding anniversary.
His Lordship caught me on the hop by presenting me with a ring from the Hebrides which has inscribed in Gaelic ' Mo Ghaol Ort'. How romantic is he.

I plan to buy him his morning scone. How unromantic and pragmatic am I, but we are dining out in fine style tonight.
