Looking to the Future!

I thought this was an appropriate blip for today after yesterdays voting in Scotland.

This sculpture was made by Joan Moore (sculpture) and Marek Zulanski (mosaic) and was unveiled in 1961. It is outside Burnley Library which is at one side and the Magistrate Court is on the other side. It was commissioned by Burnley and District Chamber of Commerce and was presented to the town to celebrate its Centenary year.

I remember as a child it being unveiled and it caused quite a stir.

The boy and girl are holding hands and "Looking to the Future" and like me and Ted I hope we all can.
