Pictorial blethers

Late sun

On a grey day, in a grey mood, I went with a similarly affected friend for a walk up the Glen Massan road. As we returned past the outskirts of Benmore Gardens, the sun made its first appearance of the day and shed a pale golden light over the hills behind us. Also engaged in cheering us up on this day of post-Referendum gloom: a heron, flapping its way down the Echaig River; a red squirrel positively galloping down the road towards us before suddenly swerving into the trees; an enormous spider sitting motionless among the brambles on a trackside bush. This last was every bit as big as the bramble beside it - and that was only its body ...

Oh, and two wonderfully red trees outside the James Duncan café. They might have been today's blip, but I liked this one.
