Balloon...

I was in Albert Square yesterday at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival. There are events all over the city but Albert Square is the festival hub. I was pleased to see we have got the square back for now after the work to move the services under Princess Street in readiness for the building of the new tram line across the city centre. The trenches have been filled in with ugly asphalt but they will return the surface of the square to its usual fans of cobbles early next year when the work has been completed.

The square was busy with people enjoying the food from the restaurant field kitchens and the drinks in the beer tent. It wouldn't have been a Manchester weekend if there wasn't a hen party about and the festival didn't disappoint. I try to avoid hen parties when I see them and the later in the evening it is the worse they get. It was only 2 30 and this party was already 'well oiled.' And if gangs of young men forced their attentions on random young women the way theses gangs of young women force their attentions of hapless young men they come across they would be arrested.

The bride had this balloon attached to her outfit....
