Life through the lens...

" Ferndean Manor"

Our walk started in the delightful hamlet of Wycoller.
(over the border into Lancashire!)
This is the ruins of Wycoller Hall built in the 16th centuary.
Charlotte Bronte is thought to have frequently visited Wycoller, on her walks from Haworth.
The Hall is believed by some to be Ferndean Manor in her novel " Jayne Eyre".
Was it from this secluded spot that Charlotte received her inspiration.

Now a ruin it is a very romantic spot, along side the little river.
Beautiful with today's sun shining through the trees, and providing the dappled light.

A very enjoyable walk, over the moors, past very old farms, and through old villages.
Finishing off with tea and St Clements cake at the little tea shop in the village.

Lovely weather after all that gloom for the last few days.
Hope you have all had a good weekend too.
