Desperately seeking

Sunday-upon-Soar

We are now on the river Soar rather than the Grand Union Canal so our anchor is out and attached (the white rope) in case we need it. The problem with being on a river is that there are few organised places where the edge is neat enabling mooring the boat against the bank. The land edging the river is in private ownership.

Last night however, we were relieved to find moorings at Sileby Boatyard. We needed their services but had no idea what time they would open on a Sunday. Fortunately a lady opened up at 9am. While waiting I saw a kingfisher and got a shot of it. Now this is a first for me - not posting it as a blip!

The locks we encountered today were double and we travelled through them all with a couple we met yesterday. We worried where we would moor for the night but we found a length of piling (crinkly metal edging) just long enough for both boats.
