Rievaulx Abbey

It’s been a beautiful sunny and warm day today. Perfect for our walk along the Cleveland Way from Helmsley to the former Cistercian Abbey at Rievaulx.

Rievaulx Abbey was founded by St Bernard of Clairvaux in 1132 and became one of England’s wealthiest monasteries before its dissolution by King Henry VIII in 1538. During that time these walls must have soaked up their fair share of religious music.

This is my submission for a ‘frame within a frame’ for Terrybob’s September Technique challenge and tenuously for West Coast Bob’s ‘Mono Monday Music’ challenge.
