Redwing Food

I am feeling a bit better today, although still under par and have just realised that this probably results from a flu inoculation that I had last week. I have been up and about rather more, including walking up to our local surgery and back (about one mile), but have still taken things very easily. This picture is of the bright red berries growing on what I thought was a Rowan tree in our garden but now understand that it is a Stranvaesia (Photina davidiana). Although many birds will eat its berries it is a favourite food of the Redwings that visit our garden a little later in the year (weather dependant).
