Skydiving!

So this morning the weather looked fine for our skydive (bugger!). On arrival at the centre, however, we were made to wait an hour while they were checking the cloud levels ... nerves building all the while. We had decided it was a now or never thing with the skydive as we would probably never be in a place so scenic with the opportunity again.

We had opted for the 15,000 foot, 65 second free fall rather than the shorter 12,000 foot one (why?) and so sat patiently till they decided we could go. We then got driven to the centre, met our tandems (the pic is Fred with Colin) and then off we went! What an experience and what amazing views. The free fall was weird ... didn't really feel like you were free falling but then when the parachute is launched it all calms down and you can chat and enjoy the views.

Very cold to begin with but well worth it. Fun times :-).

Got back on land and booked an overnight trip to Doubtful Sound for Sunday. The road to Milford Sound was being closed on and off due to weather conditions so we chose Doubtful which is only accessible by boat and is further south. What to do until Sunday in Queenstown?
