Britannia

We decided to visit the royal yacht in Edinburgh and it was a good choice. The entire yacht was open to the public and it was not nearly as elaborate as we expected. It was commissioned in 1952 and in those postwar days the Queen did not think it appropriate to build anything too lavish. It is decorated with very peaceful colors and it was easy to imagine the royal family relaxing and enjoying holidays aboard, as well hosting dignitories for formal receptions and state visits.

Below deck were the crew quarters and three well stocked bars for the officers and yachtsmen ..... and for the tourists to have a few laughs and take photos. All was well until CJ tipped the drum upside down and emptied the ice bucket!!

Then it was off to the tearooms for coffee and cake, accompanied by a little bit of ukelele strumming on the audio headsets!!
