Master of the flock

Now the festival season's over, we've decided to take a little time off to enjoy this fantastic weather.

Mr M packed a picnic and we set off as soon as I'd finished the Morning Job. [Not quite the hill walk Mr M had planned as there proved to be a lot of cows on the path and I don't 'do' cows - not that many over a large area, anyway!] Very pleasant walk from Hepburn Crags across the heather moors towards Ros Castle. We didn't go up there on this occasion though.

On the way home we had to stop the car while this sheepdog took his flock in to a field. They weren't at all keen to go through the gate, and he had his work cut out!

Stopped again for the rest of our picnic and to watch the sun set over the hills. Glorious!
