Missing:- One Hinge

There were many new eruptions of bracket fungi on stumps of birch trees. This particular stump had these two below eye-level and another five higher up. Several on nearby trees as well. The youngest babies were just a couple of inches across whilst the largest were over a foot. This one was intermediate.

This is the commonest bracket fungus growing almost exclusively on birch trees.
Piptoporus betulinus, commonly known as the birch polypore, birch bracket.
