Shaggy Scalycap fungus

The weather was beautiful today so we went for a walk on Llynclys Common. The leaves are changing colour and the woodland paths and glades looked beautiful but everywhere was very dry and there was very little water in the pool. Lovely as it is to have the warm dry weather, the countryside and gardens will welcome some rain.

We heard then saw jays (too fast for the camera though) and a flock of long tailed tits. I was pleased to see clumps of shaggy scalycap on a tree trunk but particularly liked this single one peeping out!
