Taking a break

This morning I went on a 5 mile walk with U3A around Pool Quay near Welshpool. It was a lovely walk along the canal and through fields and lanes.

As we walked along the canal we saw and heard a very distressed and exhausted sheep that was trying to get out of the water but was weighed down by a heavy waterlogged fleece. There was no way that we could reach it and no path on the other side. Some of our members had to walk a long way back through fields to rescue it. The ex farmers in the group said leave it but others were getting upset in case it died in the water.

The blip is of our break in the middle of the walk, The Breidden Hills are in the distance. We get a lot of people (28 today) which makes it slow when we have to wait for everyone to get over stiles!
