Otherworldly

Its just a plant in a pot
by the front door.
Some sort of succulent
with ruffled, pink edged leaves
and a strong will to live.
Frequently forgotten.
It almost froze last winter.
It is watered only sporadically.
But it has managed to hang on
and reward us with pink…flowers?
tall enough to see from the kitchen window.
A valiant reward
for our neglect.
