Trout fishing season is underway...yahoo!

Can't lay any claim to fame to the highly successful day today, except feeding the fishermen.

They were all up and off at 6am this morning ( I stayed warm in bed!), along with many other boats...except those that had a bit too many "liquids" last night and didn't quite make the opening! Had sent them off with sausages, sauce and bread to barbecue on the boat for their breakfast.

They were extremely happy when they arrived home for late lunch, 12 strikes with 4 lost, 4 released and 4 keepers...a most successful morning.

By 4pm they were all off again, and arrived home at 9pm with the same tallies as this morning, another 12 strikes! As you can well imagine they were feeling pretty impressed, would have to go down as one of the best opening days they have had. (Sorry Richardg....you would have had a great time!)

Todays blip was our son showing his son how to fillet the trout. The wine barrel in the background is actually the fish smoker, it does a great job of cold smoking the trout. Although I think most of the fish are heading back home with the visitors as fresh trout.

I organised dinner for them before heading into town for Camera Club tonight. Very pleased with my two honours, and for those NZ blippers, Sally Mason was the judge. The two images were previous blips, the magnolia, and the impressionistic lake.
