The Baker

Sam was so enthused by his cookery lesson yesterday that he wanted to make more bread 'immediately'. Unfortunately by the time he got back from his after school Tai Kwan Do class it was too late (the bread mixture hadn't risen enough).

We left it overnight and here he is at 7.00am making bread rolls for the family! I tell you 7.00am - that boy is keen!

There was a slightly acidic taste to the bread so we looked up the explanation tonight. We discovered that we had left it to 'prove' too long meaning that the yeast was too fermented. So that explains why Jigsaw Bakers have to get up so early in the morning...

All very interesting and good learning. It's an encouraging development, long may it last!
