Stagshorn Fungus

I went on a fungi walk today (run by the Wildlife Trust Bedford Group). It was most interesting and I was surprised to learn that there are around 15,000 different species of fungi in the UK!

We saw a whole variety of fungi, one of which was this beautiful stagshorn fungus, it was growing from a piece of rotten conifer wood and only stands 5cm tall!
