My topsy-turvy life

Where there's blame there's a claim

After a day in St Helier we decided to have a trip around the island today starting with a ride on a 1950's open top bus to the Jersey War Tunnels that became an underground hospital. There was a hell of a lot of stuff in there dealing with all aspects of the occupation.

Then it was back to St. Helier and hop on a -normal- bus over to Gorey and Mont Orgueil Castle. This is probably the other iconic image of Jersey, a proper castle overlooking a picturesque fishing harbour. The castle itself was great and had loads of art installations hidden away in various nooks, crannies, rooms, crypts and towers. Including this one showing the various injuries that medieval soldiers could expect...and it was huge!
