Sunset off Cowes

We had a foggy start to the day, sailing down the Beaulieu from Bucklers Hard, then following the contours to stay in relatively shallow water out of the way of anything big. We said goodbye to Philippe before John, the yacht examiner, arrived to start the test. Peter was nervous and made a mess of leaving the pontoon - not uncommon in such tests. He tried hard to get things right and the examiner was happy to pass him. It's been a long day.

We pulled in to Cowes as the sun was setting and had some dinner on the boat before the night navigation part of the exam. Up early tomorrow for the journey home.
