Leaves Raining Down

I beat the rain which was travelling across the country as I drove eastwards to Mum and Dad's this morning. But not for long. As soon as we got home from having an early lunch out the skies hurled down rain and leaves for several hours, followed by a short spell of bright clear sunshine before dusk started falling. Autumn has definitely made a dramatic entrance this year.

It's Dad's 90th birthday on Monday, and I'm hoping he'll be okay for his lunchtime celebrations with all the family tomorrow. He had a chest x-ray in hospital last week, which has shown up fluid on his lungs and an as yet unidentified shadow. He's now waiting for an appointment at the chest clinic for further investigations. I'll be staying with Mum and Dad until Wednesday, and will take it from there depending on how things go.
