October is breast cancer awareness month, and they take it seriously here in Iceland. They sell pink ribbons at the supermarkets, the taxis have pink ribbon signs on their roofs and Harpa, the concert hall, has pink lights in its windows. I took a picture of it tonight, but it looks more purple than pink! But it is meant to be pink.

We wanted to see a documentary tonight at the Reykjavik Film Festival, it was about how the British and US powers manipulate the press about reporting what goes on during wars, but unfortunately it was sold out when we got to the cinema. It was actually good that this happened, because it was snowing quite heavily on the mountain pass when we drove home, and it might have gotten worse if we had driven back later, and then we found the movie on youtube and watched it at home, without having to pay!
