Bodnant Gardens

"The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies."
Gertrude Jekyll

Recommended to visit Conwy, even if only for a drive through, so headed off there after breakfast. Not far really, just feels like there's a lot to fit in today. Had a quick look around the castle and Telfords suspension bridge before returning to Bodnant Gardens for 11am.

Another little gem, the gardens were a gift to the National Trust. I have about 2 hours to wander around here before returning to the Welsh Food Centre nearby to get some photos there. Extensive grounds to wander through with plenty of colour and variety of flowers, shrubs and trees. At the far end of the grounds is The Poem, a family Mausoleum still in use and opened once a month .

Lunchtime and I head off to the Welsh Food Centre, when the light is on the building . Stop there for lunch too before getting a couple more shots then back to Bodnant Gardens for another hour or so.

Leave the area about 4pm for the drive home. Decided to try the route via Shrewsbury this time. The drive across North Wales is clear, and the A roads cross country to Whitchurch pretty clear too, not much country traffic around. Grinds to a halt around Shrewsbury and a steady flow of traffic afterwards down the A49. Get home just after 9pm, exhausted after a 1200 mile round trip.
