A Sunday walk

Today we did a made up walk using the OS map from the wonderfully named Pen-y-Bont Llanerch Emrys in The Tanat Valley.

On paper it looked very good but it was a bit of a curate's egg walk.
We hadn't planned on a fair portion of the valley road being closed for roadworks. This meant a regular jump into the hedge to avoid the traffic ( cars, lorries, tractors etc.) many going round tiny lanes at silly speed.
We also hadn't bargained on the hedges being so high that a lot of the beautiful views were hidden from view.

We still enjoyed it though, gorgeous views when we could see them and some good bird sightings. We saw a kingfisher flying up the river and two views of a dipper. There was a female bullfinch too though not blippable as it was deep in the hedge eating berries.
