Distant deer

A beautiful autumn day today - bright sunshine and cool temperatures at last. Decided to go to Minsmere as the RSPB had the Red Deer viewpoint open on Westleton Heath. Went to the main reserve first and it was heaving because of a small bird called a Little Crake. Did catch a glimpse but, to be honest, it could have been anything1! It had got the twitchers excited though and the hide was packed!

Fewer crowds at the Red Deer. This is one of the largest herds in England. If you get to the area early in the day they are much closer but by this stage they were rather distant. The stags were very vocal - an awesome sound.
