Sunday: Autumnal Colours

We went for a good long Sunday constitutional today. The colours are distinctly autumnal but there was still some really nice warmth in the air.

When we arrived home, imagine our surprise to find.........we were locked out! For reasons that are too tedious to go into, we had taken the house key off the keyring yesterday and had forgotten to put it back on. And then forgot that it wasn't on there, until we were standing in front of the door. It's amazing how often I looked at the keyring to just make sure it really wasn't there.

Luckily, we hold spare keys in the office. It was slightly cumbersome and I did have to phone a colleague or two (or four) for some limited assistance, but they have promised never to mention the incident again.......
