When in China...

...you buy a Chinese hat! We bought hats on Thursday morning for our boating trip along the river only to find they weren't much use because they were far too big for our oversized Western heads and blew off easily in the wind. In fact they are the perfect shape for dragging along behind you in a stiff breeze, gently throttling you with cheap chin-strap string whilst you are busy balancing precariously on the edge of a small bamboo raft trying to get a good angle on the scenery "because it'll make a good blip."

We brought them back home with us to put on the wall in our apartment. This more ornate one of the two was Jenny's.
